I am an Orton Gillingham-trained practitioner earning my Wilson Reading System certification. -have a Master's Degree in literacy instruction. -I am a certified Reading Specialist with 20 years of teaching experience, including K-12 general and special education. -I develop and provide teacher preparation in structured literacy for university students and certified teachers. I currently offer online/virtual instruction; I provide a learning experience that simulates the in-person tutoring experience. My tutoring services include IEP advocacy support for caregivers. Melissa understands all challenges associated with literacy, especially dyslexia. When my daughter started with Melissa, she was in 6th grade, reading at a 2nd grade 3rd month reading level. After one year with Melissa, my daughter was reading at grade level! Melissa also took the time to get to know my daughter on a personal level, and my daughter loves her!
