I have recently moved to DC to be near family and have decided to work as a Nanny/Babysitter. My background is a Licensed Professional Counselor for children who also worked with preschool and school-aged children in a non-therapeutic school setting. I have worked extensively with children, both as a counselor, teacher and babysitter. I have been babysitting for over 30 years, mostly on a part-time basis in addition to a full-time job and raising two children of my own. I have worked with children of all ages including newborns, preemies, infants, toddlers and multiples (days and overnights), as well as children with special needs. I find that extremely gratifying and I love watching the children grow, develop and blossom. I tend to remain with families once I start working with them. Melissa is just absolutely amazing. From the time i spoke to her on the phone i felt very comfortable. We were visiting DC for a weekend and needed someone to watch my little ones. She was prompt in coming before time and made the kids feel very comfortable. She took great care of them and even got books to keep them entertained. I would absolutely hire her again when i visit the area next.
