About Melissa

Learning is a journey, and I'm passionate about guiding students through it. With a college degree and 11 years of experience as a certified teacher, I focus on building confidence and fostering a love for learning. I create an engaging and supportive environment, tailoring my approach to each student's unique learning style through active listening and varied teaching strategies. I celebrate small successes and break down complex problems to keep students motivated, especially when tackling challenging concepts. Communication is key, and I provide regular updates to parents. I am also trained in Individualized Education Programs (IEP). Witnessing a student's "aha!" moment is the most rewarding part of tutoring. I tutor elementary students in Math, English, Science, Special Education, and History. I am comfortable tutoring at a student's home, a center, or online. I have a car and am comfortable with pets.
