About Megan

I am a certified Special Education teacher with 6 years of teaching in the classroom, 2 years of being a para-educator for students with special needs, and 5 years of working with youth programs and tutoring. I love getting to work one-on-one with students to help them learn and succeed to the best of their abilities. Recently, I tutored a neighborhood family friends son for 2 years. Initially, his mother and teachers were concerned about his lack of focus and inattention in class, rushing through tasks, incomplete assignments and not turning in work. He is a very intelligent kid and understands the material well, so my primary focus was teaching him skills on time management, slowing down and paying attention to the task in front of him, breaking things down into manageable steps, and building his confidence in himself and his learning abilities. He is now working so successfully in school and his grades have thrived so much that he doesn't require tutoring.
