About Megan

I'd describe my personality as patient, positive, and encouraging. I'm looking for a job that allows me to work with young children and promote a love of books and reading. I am currently a 1:1 math and reading tutor at Huntington Learning Center. In my spare time, I like to hang out with my kids, read, garden, cook, watch birds, hike, camp, etc. I am passionate about literacy education. I can tutor in math, science, and history as well. I have a BA in English/History and a MA in Library and Information Science. I typically use All About Reading and All About Spelling which takes an Orton-Gillingham approach. I have numerous games/puzzles/manipulatives from my 15+ years of homeschooling my own five children. As a Children's and YA Librarian, I planned and implemented programs such as babytime, storytime, summer reading program, book clubs, reader's theater, and more for the Houston Public Library.
