About Mckenzie

I'm an active, energetic person who loves getting outdoors and staying busy. Whether it's running, yoga, team sports like basketball volleyball, or even just a good board game, I bring that same enthusiasm and engagement to how I care for children. I believe in balancing fun with responsibility, and creating a safe, creative space where kids feel supported and free to be themselves. I've always had a natural connection with children. Growing up with two younger sisters, I was hands-on from a young age-helping, teaching, and caring for them. My mom has been a kindergarten teacher for over 25 years, nurturing and early childhood education have always been a part of my everyday life. Throughout high school and into early adulthood, I provided childcare for a number of families and truly loved every minute of it. Since moving to Portland from Olympia in 2018, I've been working in the service industry, currently part-time as a barista while attending the Aveda Institute for hair design.
