About Maya

I am a certified teacher with a Master's degree in History Education from Bard College. My background includes teaching law to high school students and supporting young people with autism as they develop essential academic, social, and life skills. I believe that every student learns differently, which is why I prioritize open communication to understand each learner's strengths, challenges, and goals. This allows me to tailor my instruction to meet their individual needs and learning style. I strive to make learning engaging, relevant, and enjoyable by connecting complex concepts to students' interests and real-world experiences. Through patience, encouragement, and clear instruction, I help students build not only academic skills but also confidence in their abilities. The most rewarding part of teaching is watching students grow, overcome challenges, and discover their potential.
