About Maya

I am a current college student studying English and secondary ed. I have taken classes and completed field work for special ed students and adults. I also have tutoring experience as a peer writing tutor at my college I want to go into teaching because I am passionate about all children deserving understanding. As a neurodivergent person myself, I understand that everyone's brains work differently and I am dedicated to giving everyone the patience and encouragement they need to strive. I enjoy getting to know different people's strengths and struggles and finding creative solutions that are tailored to each individual brain. I'm looking for a job that invites a meaningful connection with the person I am helping. I am willing to do more than tutor, including babysitting, entertaining, or helping around the house. One thing you should know about me is that I am a full time college student out of state, so I will only be available during the Summer and Winter breaks.
