Hi, My name is Maya. I'm originally from Germany and have been living in Maui for 2 years and a half now. I currently live in Waihee with my husband and my stepson, who is 10 years old. We previously lived Upcountry and are planning to move back around mid-March. I have a state-certified educator degree and a Bachelor's in Social Work from Germany, and I have over 6 years of experience working in preschools ages 2-6, including 1 year and a half at an outdoor preschool here in Maui. I grew up in a big family with 5 siblings and many cousins, which inspired my love for working with children. I have lots of experience with kids of different ages and love helping them grow into independent, confident, and curious individuals. I am patient and calm but also energetic and adventurous. We highly recommend Maja as an exceptional babysitter and childcare professional. She cares for our two children a 3-year-old and a 1-year-old and consistently goes above and beyond in every aspect of childcare. One of the most impressive things is her ability to gently and successfully put our baby to sleep even though our daughter does not take a bottle and is primarily breastfed. This requires a high level of patience, intuition, and experience, which she handles with ease. Maja keeps our children engaged without relying on screens, instead offering age-appropriate activities, creative play, and calm routines that support healthy development. Our children are always happy, relaxed, and well cared for when they are with her. She is extremely kind, reliable, and professional, and is very well educated, holding a Bachelor’s degree from Germany. Her background truly shows in the way she interacts with and supports our children.
