About Maya

I love working with kids because they teach me new ways of understanding the world. Caring for kids and being somebody who they can lean on brings me so much joy. I started working with kids eight years ago as a babysitter. I have nannied for many families with children ages 3 months-15 years old. I have also worked as an overnight camp counselor for two summers and as a kindergarten teacher. I love to help kids engage their creativity and have experience being the immediate caretaker for kids of all ages. In my spare time, I like to go hiking, play guitar, dance, and cook with friends! I'd describe my personality as a creative, empathetic problem-solver. My skills include creating engaging games/activities (especially music-related), balancing kids of multiple ages and needs, and maintaining patience.
