About Maureen

Hello! I'm Maureen, a Montessori-trained early childhood educator with 20 years of experience working with children ages 3-6. I have a background in Early Childhood Education and Psychology, along with specialized literacy training from Teachers College, Columbia University. I provide warm, engaging, individualized tutoring for preschool- and kindergarten-aged children, focusing on early reading, phonics, handwriting, early math, and kindergarten readiness. My Montessori approach uses hands-on learning to make lessons meaningful while helping children build confidence, independence, and a love of learning. I believe every child learns differently, so I meet children where they are and build on their strengths and interests. My goal is to create a positive, supportive learning experience where children feel comfortable, capable, and excited to learn.
