I have a rich background in mental health services. I had my first opportunity at Northern Human Services in Berlin, NH in 2019 when, after my uncle, a longtime resident of their residence for the emotionally disturbed, passed away, a worker and now longtime friend gave me a referral to apply as an R. A. I earned medication administration certification and attended Domestic Violence Lethality Training and a substance abuse seminar. I helped with ADLs, transportation, and de-escalation. In time I moved on to working in an A. A. residential treatment center, which gave me many additional experiences and trainings, including CPR/AED certification, First Aid training, Peer Recovery Support Suicide Prevention Training, and breathalyzer and UDS screenings. Then shortly after my cross-country to South Lake Tahoe, I received a referral for a freelance job as an aide for a young man with epilepsy and primary progressive aphasia. I quickly earned a $5 raise.
