About Mary

I have been tutoring children in Reading since 1999: my own tutoring service, Sylvan and KUMON Learning Centers. I also have been a Preschool teacher and am adept with Pre-Reading Skills. My College degree is in Special Education with additional licensure in Learning Disabilities/Dyslexia. I am able to provide Diagnostic Reading Assessments, Kindergarten Readiness,, Phonics Instruction, Reading Fluency, Reading Comprehension, Basic Writing Skills, both Study Skills and Test-Taking Strategies. I also assess an individual's Learning Style(s) in order to learn these skills; which affords the student and family tutoring that is a cut above the competition. My preference is to tutor in a public library. If I tutor in my home, a parent, without siblings, must be present. This is for everyone's safety and minimum distractions.
