About Mary Claire

Hi! I'm Mary, and I recently graduated from Colorado State University with a B. A. in English and my teaching licensure. I moved to Colorado from Mississippi and have always loved working with kids. My degree was heavily child-centered-from studying adolescent development to working in local classrooms as a teacher's aide and later as a student teacher. I taught over 125 students in 9th and 10th grade English and am passionate about making learning meaningful, creative, and fun. Before Colorado, I spent five years babysitting and tutoring English in my hometown. I also studied Creative Writing and love using storytelling to spark imagination and connection. As the eldest sister in my family, I've always looked out for younger kids and know how to balance warmth with structure. I'm dependable, engaging, and genuinely care about supporting families.
