My last caregiver job was a live-in position for a woman with brain cancer, on hospice. My duties were cooking and feeding her 3 meals a day, bathing, med administration, turning, changing, companionship, keeping her comfortable, light cleaning, and support for her husband. I also made phone calls to doctors and dealt with the hospice agency and nurses. I clean for seniors as well. I took care of my grandmother extensively for over 10 years. Eventually, she was on hospice and passed over 10 years ago. I also have experience with young children, as well as my own. They are teenagers now. I have a strong desire to love and care for those who need it the most. It is very gratifying to me when someone sick smiles because of the love and compassion around him/her. It is important to me to be an advocate for the patient and for him/her to know that someone supports their needs and wants.
