2019 when covid had started, the company I worked for was forced to close. So I took a part time job managing 2 acres landscaped property. The owner John Podboy had suffered a stroke and could barely walk or talk. We quickly became good friends and he asked me to be his caregiver. John is a navy seal and a published phycolagest, I cooked kept the house up gave him his meds etc. I cared for john for 6 years the last year John was bed written. I hand fed him cleaned and bathed him. Hospis came in Nov 24. They said I was a very well trained caregiver. I was with John when he took his last breath july2025. I never planned to be a caregiver but I'm glad I did it made me a better man.
