About Marissa

Hi! I'm Marissa; a patient, supportive tutor who is passionate about helping students feel confident and capable in their learning. I hold a Bachelor of Science from Virginia Tech and am currently pursuing my Doctorate in Physical Therapy. My academic background and graduate-level training have strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly, adapt to different learning styles, and support strong problem-solving skills. My passion lies in the STEAM fields, where I enjoy helping students truly understand material rather than just memorize it. I'm also very strong in English and love supporting reading comprehension, writing, and organization skills. I pride myself on being patient, encouraging, and dependable, and I work to create a positive, low-pressure environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. My goal is to help students grow academically while building confidence, independence, and a love for learning. I also played Viola throughout my education!
