About Marissa

Hi there, I'm so glad you're here! My name is Marissa. I graduated from UNC Charlotte with a B. A. in history and journalism in December 2024. I graduated with a 4. 0 GPA and two and a half years of peer tutoring experience. I specialize in reading comprehension, writing, editing, and research development. I have extensive experience in helping young writers to improve research, argumentative writing, and self-editing skills. I maintain a hands on approach when needed to keep students engaged and on track but love to watch their ideas flourish and develop on their own. My tutoring mission is to provide students with studying, organization, and time management skills that will help them to improve across ALL courses. While I specialize in the humanities, I also love to help young students develop their math skills. In my spare time you might find me exploring an indie bookstore, watching baseball (Go Red Sox!), or spending quality time with my cat, Willow!
