About Maria

! Hola! I'm Maria, a native Spanish speaker from Colombia with 13+ years of experience teaching Spanish to adults, teens, and kids. I offer conversational Spanish for adults, grammar support, reading and writing practice, and English-Spanish/ Spanish-English translations, with a focus on real life communication for work, travel, and daily conversation. My background includes working as a Spanish writing professor in Colombia, a Spanish Teaching Assistant at the University of Florida ( Spanish 1 & 2), and K-12 teaching experience in Bogota-Colombia. I currently work as Health & Wellness manager at a local non-profit developing culturally responsive curriculum for Latino families. My teaching style is patient, practical, and confidence building. I enjoy EDM music, yoga, meditation, hiking, and dancing. Available for adults and families in the Portland area, in person or online.
