About Maria

I have worked at a Learning Support Center at a community college for a couple years now. I believe adamantly that tutoring can expand to supportive learning and include support ranging from personal statements, study skills, emailing instructors asking for extensions or help, building confidence in the writing process, and basic computer skills. I have worked with individuals ranging from 15 to 75 in a variety of subjects. My philosophy of learning emerged from the lack of support I personally received. I believe firmly in treating each person with the respect and patience they need to succeed. I hope to facilitate a shame free environment for those who have maybe felt the same shame I felt when I needed help.
