About Maria

Hi, I'm Maria! I'm 26 and a medical student. I've worked with children for 10 years as a preschool teacher, full-time nanny, babysitter, and tutor, caring for kids from infancy through adolescence (including baby nurse) Before medical school, I spent 3+ years as a nursing assistant in the Pediatric Cardiac ICU at UF Health Shands, where I cared for medically fragile babies and children. This taught me how to provide compassionate, attentive care while supporting families through both joyful and difficult moments. Those experiences are a big part of why I'm pursuing a career in pediatrics! My goal is to build genuine relationships with the families I work with. Whether we're reading, playing outside, baking, or tackling homework, I strive to create a fun, safe, and nurturing environment.
