About Maria

I am passionate about helping students unlock their full potential through personalized learning experiences, as I have received being a student at Michigan State. I actively listen to students and vary my teaching strategies using visual aids, hands-on activities, and discussions to suit their needs. I have had a physics tutor who demonstrated this with me and it was very beneficial for my learning. I connect challenging topics to real-world examples and celebrate small successes to keep students motivated. I have seen success with conceptual learning while learning physiology at MSU. I value my professor for making hard concepts easy to understand through this teaching technique. I want to do the same with the students I tutor. Open communication is essential, so I provide regular updates to parents to reinforce learning at home. I am BLS and a trained Medical Assistant, have a car, and am comfortable with pets.
