About Maria

Unlocking a student's unique potential drives my passion for education. With 10 years of experience as a certified teacher, I specialize in English and study skills for elementary and middle school students. My approach centers on creating a supportive, patient environment where I adapt my methods-from visual aids to hands-on activities-to match your child's specific learning style. I hold certifications in Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and student accommodation plans (504), allowing me to provide tailored support that builds critical thinking and confidence. By breaking down complex concepts and celebrating every "aha!" moment, I help students achieve their academic goals. I prioritize clear communication to ensure we remain a collaborative team. Whether we meet at the library or a community center, I am dedicated to your student's long-term success. I truly look forward to helping your child discover the joy of learning.
