About Maria

I'd describe my personality as fun, creative, loyal. I like tutoring because it allows me to adapt my teaching to student pace and goals, and to see them grow more confident in their learning. I'm looking for a job where I can share my passion for the Spanish language, personalize learning and work in a supportive environment. I began tutoring in 2016 while completing my master's degree in Spanish at Auburn University. I worked with college students at the university and also tutored children through Auburn University's after-school multilingual program. In my spare time, I enjoy staying active through workouts and hiking, reading and writing, and spending time with my family. Families should know that I'm originally from Colombia, South America. I'm married, have two daughters, and a baby grandson. I love animals. My top tutoring skills are personalizing lessons to each student's needs, making learning engaging with real-life context.
