Hi! I'm Maren, a nanny & special needs caregiver with a background in occupational therapy, vision therapy, and hands-on developmental support. Before earning my Occupational Therapy Assistant degree, I spent 4 years as an Optometric Vision Therapist, primarily supporting school-aged children with developmental and visual processing challenges. I've worked with typically developing kids as well as those with autism, sensory processing differences, and other special needs. My experience also includes caregiving for adults in skilled nursing settings. I bring a calm, observant presence and tailor each interaction to the person's needs. That can look like play-based developmental support, routine structure, or simply patient companionship. I help coordinate outings, homework, cleaning, or pet care. We had the absolute pleasure of having Maren care for our two boys (now 5 and 9) over the past 3.5 years. She was interactive, patient, fun, respectful and responsible. She always engaged the boys in age-appropriate activities that were both educational and entertaining. Whether it was crafting, reading, outdoor play, or just imaginative games, she knew exactly how to meet them at their level and keep them happily engaged. What stood out most was her calm, nurturing presence, positive attitude and genuine care for our children. She built a wonderful bond with both boys and was always consistent and communicative with us as parents. One of our boys has a severe food allergy and she was responsible and helpful in his care. She became an important and trusted part of our family!
