About Marcia
Experience: 10 yrs
After receiving my Bachelor's degree in Education, I taught English Language Arts in Minneapolis for 20 years, specializing in grammar, literature, poetry, phonics, and reading comprehension. My students were from many different cultures, and most were from low income neighborhoods. I have worked with several kids in Special Education, and many students who knew little English. I have also worked at a learning center, testing and diagnosing students, as well as teaching adults English and/or preparing for a General Equivalency Diploma. I have had the pleasure of working in a daycare setting for the past 10 years, teaching all levels from infants to preK. I also have experience in tutoring children. One of the most rewarding experiences for me is when I get to participate in a student's understanding and growth in learning!
