About Manuella

Hi, my name is Manuella. I am a current graduate student at New York University studying Communicative Sciences and Disorders. I love supporting older adults through both care and connection. At Terence Cardinal Cooke, I worked with residents with Huntington's disease to create communication strategies that supported their daily interactions and quality of life. At Brookdale Battery Park City, I volunteered time interacting with seniors with dementia, through activities such as painting, dancing, and having conversations as a method of stimulating memory. I have also observed barium swallow studies at the Jacobi Medical Center, giving me insight into the feeding and swallowing side of senior care. My goal is always to bring comfort, joy, and dignity to the people I work with.
