About Makenna

Hi! I am a passionate middle school science educator with three years of experience working with students ages 10-14. Most recently, I had the opportunity to work with TK-1st grade learners as a summer camp counselor. As an educator, I've perfected my communication skills and patience, making me proficient in understanding and meeting individual needs. From lesson planning to personal care routines, I'm organized and attentive to detail. While most of my experience has been with older children, I bring the same patience, attentiveness, and dedication to creating safe, loving, and nurturing environments for even the youngest learners. Additionally, I've had the opportunity to plan and execute fun and engaging field trips, including some overnight excursions - one of my favorites being a trip to Alaska! I'm passionate about music, nature, and art, and I'm always looking for new and creative ways to weave all three into my lessons.
