About Makena

Hi! I'm Makena, a dedicated and experienced caregiver with over three years of childcare experience. I specialize in child development, creating a safe, fun, and nurturing environment where kids can learn and grow. I have extensive experience with babies and preschoolers. I've also worked with children up to 13 years old as a nanny, babysitter, preschool teacher, and daycare teacher. Additionally, I have experience supporting children on the autism spectrum, as I'm currently training to become a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT). I'm CPR and First Aid certified and have completed multiple child development and early childhood education courses at Western Michigan University, along with certifications from the ChildCare Education Institute (CCEI). I'll begin my Master of Social Work (MSW) program in July at WMU. Starting in August, I'm looking for a part-time position- two weekdays during daytime hours.
