About Maia

I'd describe my personality as caring, funny, and curious. I love learning! I am very interested in people, history, and whatever people are willing to teach me. I feel that a well-timed joke or quip has therapeutic value, and hope to make those in my care laugh, at least on occasion. I started caring for seniors when my grandfather was nearing the end of his life. I was already a medical assistant in family medicine, so I had experience with patients of all ages, but helping Grandpa at home was really powerful for me. I want all people to be as comfortable and at peace as he was. In my spare time, I like to read, bake, sew, and take care of my yard. I grew up reading like a fiend, and am trying to get back into it as an adult. I like baking sweet treats, and will happily share what I make!
