About Madeline

I'm Madeline - an energetic, curious and patient tutor and childcare provider. I've asked questions since I could speak - always wanting to know how and why things were. The Great Heart Academies fostered my love of learning from 6th-12th grade. That same curiosity led me to study engineering in college, with a focus in mechanical and electrical applications. Following graduation, I developed hands on knowledge working as a shipboard engineer for six years. During that time, I began tutoring at the collegiate level and found I thoroughly enjoy helping students understand new subject matter. I work by first identifying deficiencies in knowledge, confidence and testing techniques. Then I utilize the newest neuroscience breakthroughs to optimize learning and performance, with a growth mindset and holistic approach to achieve classroom goals. Outside academics, I've worked as a camp counselor and nanny. I've earned my EMT license. As the 2nd of 9, childcare is deeply ingrained in me.
