I am a retired teacher's aide, having worked in schools with children with special needs. I was also a live-in house mother in a home for kids with cerebral palsy, I took care of their daily needs and we spent many happy times together. Recently I was a paid companion for a family relative for 1 1/2 years. I visited her every day, handled medication management, scheduled and drove to doctor appointments, ran errands, paid bills, did record keeping, laundry and straightening up. While my father was ill, I was his companion every day for 2 years, I arranged and accompanied him to doctor appointments, ran errands and managed his household.
