Hello my name is Lydia. I am 52 yrs old, married, and a mother of 3 grown children. I am retired from the Dept of Public Safety where I worked at the Training Academy for Texas State Troopers, and Texas Rangers. I started in the Senior Care work by helping my Mother with my Aunt who was physically handicapped, as well as mentally impaired which included Dementia. I cared for my Aunt the last couple years of her life. My duties started in the early morning getting her cleaned up and dressed for the day, making and feeding her breakfast, she wore diaper so I took her to the restroom every w hours to try and prevent any accidents. My duties included all of her personal hygiene duties, laundry, medication reminders, housekeeping duties, driving her to appointments, running errands, shopping, and sometimes just plain companionship. I have also worked with children with medical or emotional challenges.
