About Lorena

My name is Lorena. I am a bilingual educator and psychologist originally from Barranquilla, Colombia, living in Newton, MA. I have over 11 years of experience working with children of all ages across different educational settings in both Colombia and the United States. I currently work at Charles E. Brown Middle School in Newton. My training in psychology informs how I observe and respond to children. Behavioral challenges, emotional difficulties, and transitions are areas I approach with understanding and consistency, drawing on real knowledge of child development. I am available full time during the summer and particularly enjoy working with school age children during that transition out of the school year. I am available for daily routines, after school pickups, homework support, and outdoor activities. I enjoy reading with children and am comfortable across all age groups. I am a native Spanish speaker, CPR certified, and have a valid driver's license.
