About Lisa

While my children were growing up, I cared for children birth through grade school ages. I volunteered at the YMCA in their preschool and before and after school program. With my children now grown, I am free to follow my passion of teaching and caring for young children. I am available to care for your children, cooking, light housekeeping and any other duties to accommodate your needs. Children will be involved in positive play and learning experiences while in my care. Education: I will continue to further my education in Early Childhood Education and Development. I have a secondary interest in psychology and human services. I have studied early childhood development, education and child care management, through books, educational videos, seminars, parenting classes and other venues for the past 30 years. I feel I am up to date on the child care practices used today. My method of dealing with undesirable behavior is always age appropriate. Redirection first, positive reinforcements, helping children make positive choices and understanding consequences. I am more interested in teaching children to understand their feelings connected with their behavior, then providing some kind of punishment.
