About Lila

My grandmother and I lived in the same room in a small house from when I was 2 until I was 11. I moved away from her briefly and started volunteering in nursing homes during the summer from ages 13-18. I took a brief hiatus, but last year my grandmother became ill and decided to enter herself into hospice. My grandmother has always been strong-willed, and she was too much for the nursing homes, so I left my job to take care of her until she passed away. It was an honor and a privilege, but it was exhausting, and I never felt like I had enough sleep. I would like very much to help others during this fulfilling but sometimes draining journey, so that they can have the time to enjoy their loved ones they would not otherwise have. In addition, I'm the lead preschool teacher for a class of 3-year-olds. I teach them counting and vocab in English, Spanish, French, and ASL. I've been the lead teacher for a year and am working towards getting my CDA. It's been amazing growing their minds.
