About Leslie

I taught Math & Science Enrichment in two buildings (K-5) for 10 years. The position also included teaching English & Social Studies thematic units. I am acquainted with Ohio's State Learning Standards, the best practices in teaching them, and have been a licensed educator for over 20 years. I'd describe my personality as curious, creative, and compassionate. I like tutoring because it's great to see a student succeed at something that once was intimidating. I'm looking for a job that lets me share successful teaching strategies within a flexible schedule. I started tutoring when I was 14 years old. Since then, I have worked with K-12, GED, and IEP students. In my spare time, I like to solve puzzles and write. One thing you should know about me is that I share strategies with parents so they can reinforce concepts with their child. My skills include teaching hands-on Math & Science and using organizers in Reading to focus on the main points of the different genres.
