Good Day, my name is Leslie. Ever since I was a young girl, I have harbored an intense passion for combining learning and applying new skills in the field of caring for people. Presently, I am a part time student at John Fisher College, majoring in Sociology and a fulltime care giver. As I have over five (5) years of experience working with a diverse population of people, it is an honor to love the work I do. My experience encompasses: rehabilitation, long term care, geriatric care, hospice and companion care. My career began with my being a Certified Nursing Assistant for approximately four (4) years. Recently, that title was converted to Home Health Aide. Working as a culturally competent caregiver has enhanced my ability to multitask at a steady yet, efficacious pace, which affords me the luxury of being the primary caregiver for one to two clients at a time. She was understanding and patient. One thing I loved about Leslie was her ability to make my grandmother feel good about herself. Leslie would sit and talk with my grandmother about my grandmother's life.
