About Lesedi

Hi, I'm Lesedi. I'm a 24-year-old theatre artist and Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn native, recently back in the city after college. I bring five years of professional child care experience to every family I work with: as a sleep-away camp counselor in New England, a teaching artist and after-school counselor in NYC public schools, and a trusted babysitter for children ages 4-12 since I was 16. I love working with kids from all backgrounds, and I have specific experience supporting children on the spectrum and those with ADHD. My approach is grounded in empathy and clear communication. I set firm, loving boundaries and use a learning-centered model for discipline instead of shame. Safety is always my top priority, and I work hard to create a joyful, playful environment where kids (and parents) feel supported and at ease. I'm also CPR and First Aid certified.
