About Lesae

Lesae (Sae) has cared for our children for the past year and a half. She started with us when our daughter H was three months old. H is now nineteen months, which means Sae has been a steady presence for almost her entire life. She has also cared for our son Sam, now three and a half, whenever his daycare was closed or he was too sick to attend, and she has regularly babysat both children in the evenings. Day to day with H, Sae has handled everything: keeping her happily occupied, making and feeding her lunch, putting her down for naps, and taking her to her weekly music class. She also does the children's laundry and dishes and takes out the diapers, all without needing to be asked. When she noticed that it’s hard for us to fit grocery shopping into our day, she volunteered to start doing some of it for us, and that’s been incredibly helpful. On babysitting nights she manages dinner and bedtime for both kids on her own. Sae is wonderful at her job. She genuinely falls in love with the children she cares for, and they feel it — H adores her. At the same time, she is a complete professional about discipline: calm, confident, kind, and firm. H definitely has a streak of mischief in her, but she listens to Sae. Sam is a very opinionated 3-year-old, and Sae knows how to get his cooperation too. We trust her completely with both of them, and on date nights we never worry about what’s happening at home. She’s also a genuine pleasure to work with as an employer. She respects our preferences and our decisions, but she has her own well-considered ideas and raises them openly and directly when she thinks something should be discussed. If we still disagree, she follows our lead without friction. She’s always on time, and she’s funny, interesting, and warm with adults as well as children. She has an excellent sense of boundaries as well and there’s no awkwardness when we need to end a conversation and get back to work. Sae is leaving us only because H is starting daycare and we can no longer justify the expense of in-home care. If our circumstances were different, we would want her to stay indefinitely. We recommend her without reservation, and any family that hires her will be lucky to have her.
