About Leon

My name is Leon although I prefer to be called JR. I recently moved to Portland. I have been working in education for over 20 years ( Special Education, mainstream elementary school, middle school, and high school). The majority of my time has been spent in Special Education, although I am versed to adapt to either setting. I am easy going, hard-working, caring, and honest. I also believe in orienting myself to a solid moral compass. I like working with kids because I enjoy the opportunity to help students learn and excell, especially in areas they never thought success was not imagineable. I'm looking for a job that is challenging. In my spare time, I like to spend timevwith my family, play music, read, and continue working towards my Master's degree. My skills include a strong understanding of English and history, as well as social studies and elementary school math.
