I am a recent UC Berkeley graduate seeking full-time work as a childcare provider beginning in January. I have experience with infant care, as well as school aged children, from working at summer camps with ages from 4-13 years old. Whether it's a one time babysitting gig or consistent nanny work, my goal to make a positive contribution to your family's childcare experience and establish a foundation of trust between me, you, and your children. Let's schedule a online call or coffee chat to learn more about each other!
TLDR: Hire her! She's incredible! Don't spend any more time looking for another babysitter or nanny - Leilani is truly a gift!!! She is incredibly thoughtful, generous, communicative, caring, sweet, fun, responsible, and honestly just a great human being. She was our son's nanny from the age of 6-18 months and she quickly became a part of our family. She cares for him like he's her own family member and he's always happy in her presence. - Reliability: She's dependable and flexible when we need extra support or a slightly different schedule. - Safety & trustworthiness: She has 100% of my trust - I always feel at ease leaving her with him, even at such a young age. She actually started out as a mother's helper when he was just 3 months old. - Developmental support: She introduced new foods to him (including her own, because he insists on eating whatever we eat), helped him practice his motor skills, language development, and encouraged play. She always speaks in sentences (not baby talk) which I appreciate. She helped him learn to walk, point, and use new bottles. - Adaptable: She meets us where we are. My son's naps, needs, and diet change a lot between 6-18mo and she's great at keeping up his daily routines smoothly. - Light housekeeping: She folds his laundry and helps to sanitize/clean his bottles. - Communication: She gives thoughtful updates, sends so many cute photos, or checks in about milestones and preferences. Additionally, Leilani's mom works with children and has her master's in child development so you get built-in advice and tips (without the judgement!) which was so helpful as we navigated new parenthood. Her caretaking came with a village who are all invested in his success and development! We intend on continuing to have her babysit our son once he goes to daycare because not only do we have 100% confidence in her caretaking skills, we also want to ensure they still have time to spend together because he absolutely adores her. Thank you Leilani! So grateful to have had the opportunity to work with you and have you be a part of his life. <3
