I'm a caring and fun-loving mom of 3 grown kiddos, 2 cats and a blissfully happy nunnie (grandma) of 2 little girls. I've been babysitting for over 25 years now and I was also a preschool teacher for 18 years until COVID closed our little school. While teaching preschool and babysitting, I also took on a dog-walking job and man did I fall in love. I would sit and watch tv with Dolly after our walk; I didn't want to leave her. Laurie has been the best sitter I found on Care. She interviewed with me months ago and was prompt and prepared with a list of clients to use as references. Last week, I used her services for the first time for a date night and my son absolutely loved her. He is 10 and also had a friend over which Laurie agreed to. After his friend left, Laurie and my son played board games and had fun. He was delighted with her and so was I. She is reliable, flexible, trustworthy, caring, and kind... All the qualities you want in a person caring for your child!!! We can't wait to have her back!!!

This was our first time leaving our son with someone outside of family. Laurie was wonderful and our son warmed up to her right away. She made us all feel at ease leaving him and we knew he was in good hands. It is such a relief to find someone outside of family that you can count on. We will definitely use Laurie again in the future.

Laurie was AWESOME. Our shy 20-month old little girl warmed right up to her in minutes, and Laurie made mom and dad feel very comfortable as well - it was like a family friend was watching our child when we went out on our date night. She is just a natural with kids. We will definitely contact her again!

We were new to Care.com so we were nervous, but after meeting with Laurie she put us right at ease. We needed her recently and not only is she dependable but she brings comfort and smiles. She did a wonderful job with our 2 1/2 month old and we will definitely work with her in the future. She also left us a great note. She is a great caregiver!

Laurie sat for our 2 month old baby and we immediately felt comfortable leaving her! Laurie has a high level of comfort with infants and was very reassuring throughout the evening (even texting us with updates). We are looking forward to continuing to work with her!

We hired Laurie to care for our two children while my husband and I went out for a date night. Laurie was very prompt in responding to all of my messages. She arrived on time and is so personable that she immediately put our minds at ease and quickly bonded with the children. When we arrived home, the kids were fast asleep and the house was neater than we had left it. My children said they had a great evening with Laurie. We can't wait to have her back.

I met Laurie about 15 years ago when our boys were in the same class together. At our first meeting, I thought to myself she was one of the nicest persons I had ever met. As years went by, I was in need of child care for both of my sons at some point. Laurie was more than happy to lend a hand. Being a mother, obviously I was always concerned when I left my children with someone else.  But with Laurie, I always felt secure. She always made my kids feel right at home. She had plenty of activities for them and interacted with them on a daily basis. She just knew how to work with children and you can see the connection immediately. She also was very dependable. If there was ever a time when I needed to switch things around a little she had no problem helping out. You know you have a great babysitter when your kids are grown and they still talk about her and want to go to visit her!

Laurie picks up my daughter and takes her to her home after school. She is reliable and trustworthy. My daughter looks forward to going home with her. They do activities, take walks and she gets her homework done. I'm very happy to have found Laurie.

Laurie picks my daughter up from the bus stop and takes her to her home until I'm done with work. My daughter absolutely loves going there. Laurie's family is so sweet and I feel very comfortable with her watching my child. They play, do homework, make crafts, etc. I'm so happy to have found her.

Our needs are inconsistent, so we hoped to leave the interview process with a few options.  Laurie was one of our top three choices after communicating with and interviewing many people.  She was very responsive via email and phone, which is not something we can say of many of the people who responded to our post.  She bonded almost instantly with our sons (2.5 years and 6 months) when she arrived for the interview.  Her background as a preschool teacher was clear when she initiated an impromptu art project with our 2.5 year old, which he loved.  We called her references, and they had wonderful things to say about her relationship with their children.  As long as she is willing and available, I feel certain that we will use her services in the near future.
