About Laurie

I have cared for children ranging in age from newborn up to 15 years old, some with special needs, for over 30 years. I also worked as a co-educator at the Gan Hayeled Nursery School in Washington, DC in the 2-year-old and 3-year-old classrooms. While at the Gan, I received both CPR and First Aid training, as well as studied Early Child Development. I currently work for Montgomery County Public Schools as a Special Education Paraeducator with the Infants and Toddlers program and I babysit and tutor in Reading, Writing, Math, and Spanish in the evenings. English is my first language but I speak Spanish fluently and know some Arabic and basic ASL. I studied both Spanish and ASL at Montgomery College in Rockville, MD. My own children and I love the arts, Music, Theater and Dance, as well as outdoor activities such as camping and fishing, and we love animals.
