About Laurie

Thoughtful, educated older woman seeking to be a partner and support to someone special. It's not just a job. If we are true human beings, it is a journey we take together. To this journey, I bring experience having taken care of a family member dealing with late stage Alzheimer's. In college, I studied human development throughout the lifetime and did my final practicum as an asst. Activity Therapist in a nursing home. (They offered me a job at the end.) I have spent most of my life working with families and children and was a trainer-facilitator who trained preschool teachers how to better be attuned to the children in their care. I have many transferable skills. I am at an in-between place in my career, looking for some hours. I bring a lot of knowledge and understanding to elder care and a lot of empathy too. I am a person of faith, one who doesn't have to talk about it, but is always glad to share. I am only looking for part time work but have some flexibility in hours.
