About Laurie

Empowering young learners to reach their full potential has been my primary focus for the past decade. I hold a college degree and specialize in guiding elementary students through Math and English. My teaching philosophy centers on building confidence and fostering a genuine love for learning. By observing how a student interacts with new material, I tailor my approach using visual aids, hands-on activities, and open discussions. When concepts become challenging, I break them into manageable steps and connect lessons to real-world interests to maintain momentum. I believe clear communication with families is essential for creating a collaborative environment where every student thrives. Witnessing that "aha!" moment when a student finally masters a difficult skill remains the most rewarding part of my work. I look forward to helping your child discover their own unique path to academic success.
