About Laurie

I truly value the connections I make with seniors and consider it a privilege to provide companionship and support to help them maintain independence and a high quality of life. Families describe me as warm, compassionate, and dependable. I also bring the added benefit of a 25-year career as a Speech-Language Pathologist, where I worked closely with seniors and their families across skilled nursing, and home health settings. While I am currently seeking a supportive caregiver role rather than a clinical one, my experience does provides me with considerable insight regarding the memory, problem solving and communication challenges that may accompany aging. A particular interest of mine is use of everyday technology tools to support independence - whether that's connecting with loved ones at the touch of a button, or using a simple voice command to turn on the lights. I am currently very flexible & available for personalized in home visits of 2 or more hours at a time.
