About Lauren

I'd describe my personality as energetic, curious, and determined. My favorite part of teaching is watching students puzzle out problems and finally having that "eureka" moment. I love helping kids develop their mind and gain confidence in their abilities. I'm looking for a job that is flexible and can offer a long-term relationship. I have 5 years experience working as an educator in a classroom as well as 1 year experience as an online tutor. Overall I've been in the education field since 2019. In my spare time, I like to read, write, draw, act, and study French! One thing you should know about me is I'm especially skilled at teaching literacy. I put emphasis on students being able to actually read, not just memorize. I take phonetics and the science of reading very seriously. My skills include ESL, early literacy, and reading and writing comprehension.
