About Lauren

I have worked with children professionally for 16 years in the roles of special education teacher, aide, ABA therapist, RBT, nanny, and homeschool teacher. While my specialty is working with children with autism, I have worked with neurotypical children as young as 2 months in a full time caretaker role as well! Sadly my current position is ending with a family that I love dearly due to the child beginning school. My special skill set when needed is helping families to navigate their children's' self injurious, destructive, aggressive, attention-seeking, obsessive-compulsive, and anxiety-driven behaviors using data collection and ABA principles. I seek to understand the function of the child's behavior, then use research based strategies to shape the behavior and instead provide the child with appropriate communication skills to access what they want/need. My rate based on the position ranges from $25-40 an hour and I currently live in Chapel Hill, NC.
