About Lauren

Hello, my name is Lauren. I currently work as a counselor at a medical school. I am working on my PhD and have my MSW. I am hoping to transition into tutoring and my teaching philosophy centers on building confidence and fostering a love for learning, not just memorization. I actively listen and observe initial interactions with new material. I celebrate small successes and provide consistent positive reinforcement to keep students motivated and engaged, even when facing challenging concepts. Regular updates help parents stay informed and reinforce learning at home. Building a strong, supportive rapport that makes learning enjoyable is the most rewarding aspect of tutoring for me. I am comfortable tutoring English, Science, and Study Skills at the Elementary and Middle School levels. I have a graduate degree and am comfortable with pets. I am CPR trained and have First Aid certification. I have a car and am willing to tutor at the student's home, the teacher's home/online
